WEBSITE DESIGN

Need a new website, or a website makeover?

If the answer to any of the above questions is "YES", or even "Well I guess I should", then you should get Edgeneering to help. The fact is that a professional website means the difference between building confidence with new prospective customers and sending the RIGHT message to your existing customer base that you care enough about your own business, so logically you would care about theirs too.

You might be surprised to find out how inexpensive a web site design can be. But you will be further surprised with the return on investment in a good website. Depending upon your industry, you could be losing between 20% to 80% of your potential sales by having a non-existent, poor appearance or poor performing website. Its that high. Today before anyone does any business with a new trading partner, they are going to check out their website. Its a standard practice. Notice how people use the 'Yellow Pages' less and less these days? Its because Google has all the answers. And the link that a Google search goes to will make or break your new prospect's purchase decision. If you have been used to spending thousands and thousands for big Yellow Pages advertising, you'll be pleasantly surprised how economical doing this all on the Internet is going to be.

OK, so we're in agreement (I hope). You need a great website. So now what? How do you make that happen?

Before we design, we ask a lot of questions

Understanding how the Internet will work with your organization is more about understanding how your organization works first. What are the typical demographics of your customers? Where do you want to grow your customer base? What are their expectations for your organization? What facilities would make you stand out from your competition? What is the cultural style of your organization?

If we get to know the answers to these types of questions, the website design will come together quickly and you'll like what you see. If we skip over these critical areas, you'll get something that probably won't work for you. The fact is that many website designers will force down to you what they know and what they like. It might not be applicable for your business, might not translate into increased revenue and might just not be what you like. But they'll do it their way anyway. By the time you pay the fees, have the website setup and then live with it for a month or so, you'll be embarrassed by it, won't want to send clients there, and you'll generally have to go through the entire process all over again - at additional expense.

So you need to know that you are dealing with designers who have your best interest at hand, and don't just do 'what they know' but what is right for you. The designers must have a wide variety of tools available to them, and not just expertise in one particular area.

You have to be found on Google

Its ok to have a great website with all the killer functionality. But if you are never found with Google searches, there's no point to it. Sure, you can link to it and manually send your clients there, but its the prospects that you have never met that count. The ones that do a general Google search and click on whoever comes up. They are your next customers.

Are you ranked for search terms that actually make sense for your business? Has anyone actually looked from the customer perspective as to what customers are likely to search for in order to find you? You might be surprised when we do our analysis at what customers who are interested in your products & services will type in to find you - most of the time its not what you expect.

We call this process Search Engine Optimization (SEO) and its a standard part of the service that we offer with a new website design project. Its something that you will want to do regularly at least for the first 12 months of your website going live because there are factors about the age of the website that will become important in getting higher ranking and you may need to do a bit more with optimizing the site initially in order to eventually get the age of your site on your side here. But we do know the correct and legitimate process. We don't employ any hacking techniques that could get you blacklisted (there are a few out there that might work for the first week and then you'll be in a world of pain to undo the damage that they can cause), and we only use legitimate techniques in the site design. But the way we do it aids ranking in such a way that you will get the traffic flow into your site that you have been hoping for.

Its not only about how the site looks

Unlike a lot of website designers, we have teams of software engineers available to give a website functionality that most other designers could only dream of. And since we think in terms of what is best for the end user, we'll suggest to you things that can be done via the Internet with our development team that will bring a level of functionality to your site that won't be common with your competition.

And our extensive experience in digital media production, including both audio and video, can be brought to the table as well so that your website can (if appropriate) serve audio or video content to help you get your message across to your customers about what your organization can do for them.

We also understand that a website is part of an overall market strategy. Bringing some of our services to bear, such as AnnouncerEdge.com, we can enhance your marketing with email campaigns, that will help draw traffic to you and allow you to convert the prospects into customers.

How much does it cost?

This really depends on just how much work is going to be involved in your site. We can say that we don't use pre-made template website designs. They look horrible and are so obvious to a savvy Internet user. Each site is hand designed from scratch for the client. But with that said, our designers are incredibly experienced and therefore very efficient.

Typically a good website design will cost far less than the average 1/4 page Yellow Pages ad for one year. But depending on what you want it to do, its all speculation. Best if we go over what you need first so we can give you a decent estimate up front. We don't charge for initial consultations either, so feel free to run a bunch of ideas passed us and we'll give you some decent, wise and valuable information to help work all this out.
